Crafted in New Zealand by Formula Cruisers for Royal Pacific Yachts, this 2000 Royal Pacific 476 Sport Cruiser reflects the strength and refinement of true Kiwi yachtbuilding. In 2008, she was professionally extended to 52 feet overall, adding 330 gallons of additional fuel capacity and expanding the cockpit aft for greater utility and range.

Her hull was hand-laid with nineteen layers of solid fiberglass, reinforced with vinylester resin and Divinycell coring for unmatched strength and impact resistance. This robust construction combined with watertight bulkheads and heavy-duty stainless components gives her the seakeeping ability and quiet confidence that define New Zealand’s semi-custom offshore yachts.

Power comes from twin Volvo Penta TAMD74EDC diesels rated at 480 horsepower each, mated to Twin Disc MG5075A marine transmissions. These electronically controlled, fly-by-wire engines deliver smooth acceleration, excellent maneuverability, and cruising efficiency in the 20 to 22 knot range. The SeaStar hydraulic steering, SidePower bow and stern thrusters, and Westerbeke 12.5 BTDA generator round out a thoroughly capable mechanical system designed for reliability.

The interior showcases quality and comfort. The main salon offers generous seating, beautiful joinery, a Roku flat-screen TV, and a Kenwood stereo system. The galley is equipped with a Force 10 electric oven and three-burner range, a Sanyo microwave, Vitrifrigo 12/24 volt refrigerator, freezer, and U-Line ice maker, all supported by a Magnum Energy inverter/charger and a Raritan 20-gallon water heater.

Below deck, the three-cabin, two-head layout provides excellent family or guest accommodations. The forward master stateroom features a queen berth, flat-screen TV, and private ensuite with stand-up shower and VacuFlush head. The port guest cabin offers a twin berth and storage cabinetry, while the starboard guest cabin provides two bunks with natural light and ventilation through an overhead hatch. Reverse-cycle air conditioning runs throughout the vessel, ensuring comfort in every cabin.

Topside, the extended teak cockpit is a standout feature—expansive, well-appointed, and perfect for entertaining or serious cruising. A Steelhead Marine SM800R davit system handles the AB 12AL inflatable tender with a 2017 Yamaha F25LWHC 25 horsepower outboard. The Maxwell windlass paired with a Rocna 40 anchor provides dependable ground tackle, while wide walkarounds and a large swim platform enhance safety and usability.

With her extended fuel capacity, robust systems, and beautifully maintained interior, this Royal Pacific 476 Custom 52’ represents a rare blend of strength, elegance, and offshore readiness. For the yachtsman seeking a refined cruiser capable of serious passages and elegant coastal living, she’s a standout opportunity.

For those who want to dive deeper into the DNA of this model, there’s a compelling feature article on Boats.com covering the Royal Pacific 476 Sport Cruiser.
